SouJava

SouJava is a Brazilian Java user group created to promote Java and many OpenSource initiatives around world specifically in Brazil.

History

The Brazilian SouJava Java User Group, was founded in 1997 by Bruno Souza (JavaMan), Yara Senger, Mauricio (Maltron) Leal, Fabio Velloso, Vinicius Senger. The group was created to promote Java and many OpenSource initiatives around world and specially in Brazil. SouJava User Group is NGO, and one of the biggest Java User Groups of the world, a recent estimative claims that the group can have more than 42.000 members around world.

SouJava is, together with London Java User Group, the creator of the Adopt A JSR Program. SouJava is also the First Java User Group to become a Java Community Process Expert Group Member and it is quite known by the engagement of its members.

SouJava Sao Paulo

SouJava São Paulo is the biggest SouJava group in Brazil and is located in São Paulo - São Paulo - Brazil.

SouJava Campinas

SouJava Campinas is the second biggest SouJava group in Brazil and is located in Campinas - São Paulo - Brazil. The RMC (Metropolitan Region of Campinas) is composed of 19 municipalities, representing 1.7% of GDP (gross domestic product) national GDP and 7.83% of São Paulo. With its universities, technology companies and advanced research centers, the region is considered a major technology center in Brazil. For all this we believe that we are able to build a JUG active and representative.

SouJava Rio

SouJava São Paulo is the third biggest SouJava group in Brazil and is located in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil.
