William "Sonny" Jackson (born September 24, 1938) is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Nicholls State University from 1981 to 1986 where he had a record of 39–28–1. He guided Nicholls State to its first appearance in the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs. From 1987 to 1989, he was head football coach at McNeese State University with a record of 13–20. He had a career college football coaching record of 52–48–1.

Jackson is an alumnus of Nicholls State University. He was an assistant coach at Northeast Louisiana for two seasons. Prior to his college career, he was head football coach at the former Chauvin High School in Chauvin, Louisiana and Central High School in Central City, Louisiana.[1][2][3]
