Sonia Leigh (born December 1978) is an American country music singer-songwriter. Following her 1998 debut, Remember Me, Leigh has performed extensively as a solo artist, headliner, and as the supporting act for well known names including Jason Mraz, The Marshall Tucker Band, Zac Brown Band, Blackberry Smoke.
Her 2007 release Run or Surrender was produced by John Hopkins of the Zac Brown Band. She is currently signed to Zac Brown's record label Southern Ground.[3] Her Southern Ground debut album, 1978 December, was released on September 27, 2011. The first single off the album is "My Name Is Money," which Juli Thanki of Engine 145 gave a "thumbs up".[4] Leigh also co-wrote the Zac Brown Band singles "Goodbye in Her Eyes" and "Sweet Annie".
With Leigh in demand as a co-writer, she continues to focus on her own musical output. Having independently released her ‘Counting Skeletons’ in 2014, Leigh has been impressing audiences around the world with her new striking, genre-defying anthems. Having scored radio hits stateside with the summery ‘Put It In Your Pocket’ and the emotionally charged ‘When We Are Alone’ from her as yet untitled 2015 EP, Leigh demonstrates that she is an artist unafraid to wear her heart on her sleeve or to push the boundaries of creativity.
Leigh has performed at many of America's legendary venues and amphitheaters including Red Rocks, The Gorge, and The Ryman Auditorium to name a few. She has shared the stage and garnered praise from some of the biggest names in music including Eric Church, Kid Rock, Jake Owen, Loretta Lynn, Amos Lee, Uncle Kracker, Blackberry Smoke, Billy Currington, Willie Nelson, Brantley Gilbert, Eli Young Band, Kenny Chesney, and Little Big Town.
