Sofia Carson (born April 10, 1993 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) is an American songwriter, singer and actress. She had her first role as a guest star on Disney Channel show Austin & Ally and, months later, she was cast as a star on the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Disney's Descendants.[1]

Career

Her acting career took off when she was cast as guest star Chelsea on Season 3, Episode 8: "Princesses & Prizes" of the Disney Channel Original Series Austin & Ally. A few months later, Carson was cast as recurring guest star Soleil on MTV's hit series Faking It. In 2014, she was cast in a starring role in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Disney's Descendants, directed by Kenny Ortega, who previously directed the hit movie series High School Musical. In Descendants, Carson plays Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen from Snow White, played by comedian Kathy Najimy.[2] She stars alongside Kristin Chenoweth,[3] Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, and Dove Cameron.[4]

In 2012, Carson was signed as a bilingual singer-songwriter to BMI.[5]

On January 9, 2015 Carson got the lead role in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Further Adventures into Babysitting staring alongside with Sabrina Carpenter. Filming starts in Spring 2015
