Society's Finest is a metalcore band from Dallas, Texas. Their debut album, The Journey...So Far, was released on Solid State Records, in May 2000.[1] Due to various line changes, the band was forced into a hiatus, but got back together soon after. During the time on hiatus, Vocalist Josh Ashworth toured with the Christian Metal band, Zao. When they re-formed they left Solid State, to join Hand of Hope Records. With this label, the released, Love, Murder, and a Three Letter Word, in mid-2004. It contained new songs, along with old songs from their debut EP, Private Conflicts and Suicides. Their third album, And I, Drunkard was released in June 2006. Vocalist Josh Ashworth is the only remaining original member. Member Kris McCaddon has played in bands such as, The Famine, along with Nick Nowell, who was also in Embodyment and Demon Hunter.[2] Tim Lambesis formed As I Lay Dying and is currently serving six years in prison.[3] Drummer Jesse Smith, was the last original member of Zao.

History

The band started its activities in 1997, three years after it was released the first EP of the band, called Private Conflicts and Suicides. In the same year launched the first CD : The Journey ... So Far. Society's Finest did several shows, but after some time the band went through difficulties because several members left until Ashworth left to enter as a vocalist in the band's concerts ZAO , with this Society's Finest ended its activities in 2003 . The band has been idle for a little, until in 2004 the members decided to get back in touch and closed a contract with the Hand of Hope Records. In the same year was released a CD with the old EP tracks, plus some new songs. In 2005 Chad Wilburn, former drummer, who had recorded some tracks on the first EP, returned to play in the band. Two years later, in 2006 , was released the CD And I, The Drunkards, which was produced by Andreas Magnusson ( Black Dahlia Murder , Scarlet and God's Fame) and received good reviews. [2] [3]

The release of the next album was scheduled for the year 2008 [4] .
