Social Party Imberakuri

The Social Party Imberakuri is the 10th political formation recognized in Rwanda.[1] A few months after the creation of the party by Maitre Bernard Ntaganda on December 14, 2008, the party has experienced many internal divisions. Its first General Secretary Mr. Noel Hakizimfura has been removed by the party's congress held on October 25, 2009[2] and was replaced by Mr.Theobald Mutarambirwa,[3] who was currently released on bail by the Rwandan National Prosecution Authority. Due to what the government ruled were illegal demonstrations, the organizers together with others including Ntaganda were arrested on June 24, 2010 and released on July 9, 2010 but Ntaganda was denied the bail.

Bernard Ntaganda was allegedly ejected from the leadership of the party by the vice president of the party Mrs. Christine Mukabunani after Ntaganda removed her due to the so-called treason. Mukabunani is allegedly leading one fraction and is at the same time the vice president of the Consultative Forum of political organisations[4] recognised in Rwanda.
