The Social Democratic Party (French: Parti Social Démocrate) is a centre-left Social democratic political party in Rwanda. In the parliamentary election held on 30 September 2003, the party won 12.3% of the popular vote and 7 out of 53 seats. It also received 7 seats in the 2008 elections.
The PSD supported President Paul Kagame in the 2003 presidential election.[1] In the 2010 Rwandan presidential elections the party fielded Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo as their candidate. The incumbent Paul Kagame gained 92.9% of the vote and Ntawukuriryayo came second with 4.9%.[2]
