Sind Sagar Doab

The Sind Sagar Doab, can be classified as one of the main regions of Punjab. Punjab historically has been divided into regions based on its various rivers, since the name Punjab is based on its 5 main rivers. The Sind Sagar Doab include the area between the Indus River and Jhelum River,[1] that is the eastern fringes of the Kashmir valley. The main City located in Sind Sagar Doab are the Rawalpindi and Islamabad. It consists of the districts Shahpur, Dera Ismail Khan, Chakwal, Jhelum, Bannu, Muzaffar Garh, Jhang, Gujrat, Hazara and the great Salt Range. The Doabi is the main dialect of Punjabi in Sind Sagar Doaba. The Potwar Plateau, Thal and the Salt Range are also known to be a part of the Sind Sagar Doab. The Sing Sagar Doab is a major part of the Upper Indus Plain.
