Silueta X

Silueta X, Association, is a grassroots organization, created on May 12, 2008, and legally established on May 5, 2010 by Presidential Decree MIES # 9989 of Ecuador. Is a nonprofit association whose mission is to fight for LGBT rights in Ecuador (people Transgender, Intersex, Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual), taking as its target population of transgender and transsexual female, male and intersex.

Meaning Silueta X

The word Silhouette X in Spanish “Silueta X”, is the invention of Diane Marie Rodriguez Zambrano. She from his vision gave the following meanings: “Construction of Sexuality from the Bio-Psychic own experience.” She disarms fundamentalist patriarchy: Man + XY = Silhouette Male and Woman + XX = Silhouette female, in contrast to his angry approach: Biology + Psyche + Sex experiences = Silhouette X (Silueta X). A chromosome, defined genderless.

March 2014 - Ordenaince Municipality of Cuenca – Presentation - Advocacy[1]

February 2014 Art Spaces - We conducted the First Photographic Exhibition on LGBTI rights in one of the most conservative places of Ecuador[2]

December 2013 1st meeting with President Rafael Correa, in which different arrangements were achieved such as investigating 20 murders of LGBTI people in Ecuador.[3]

December 2013 Justice - They conducted the study, "Report of the Access to Justice and TILGB Rights from 2010 to 2013 in Ecuador", where we reveal the lack of justice for sexual diversity. Our next step is a Legal Clinic.[4][5]

May 2013 They have implemented the campaign time equality for Ecuador free of discrimination. They present several topics including the lack of access to employment for the transgender population www.tiempodeigualdad.com our next step is to find a business model free homo-transphobia[6]

May 2013 Health - They currently have the first medical center TILGB with emphasis on attention to trans and intersex people (for their physiological characteristics)[7]

May 2012 1st Research on the Impact of HIV and Discrimination in the transgender population in 2012[8]

July 2011 A public apology RTS media for revealing that a transsexual participating in a reality show was transsexual. The channel apologized publicly through the legal process that followed Silueta X[9]

February 2009 Legal precedent for renaming male to female or vice versa, through a legal complaint against the Registry of Ecuador[10]
