Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University (SOA University) is a Deemed to be university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It was designated to be a deemed university by the Ministry of Human Resource Development on 17 July 2007.

SOA University is the umbrella organisation for 9 constituent institutes.
Institute of Technical Education & Research (ITER)
Since 1996-97, ITER is well known for its innovative curriculum, effective classroom transaction, application oriented practices, updated laboratories and workshops, excellent placement, industry interface and faculty members with qualification and experience. The Institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and Doctoral programmes. Students are admitted based on a national level entrance examination - SAAT. The institute has signed MoU with industries such as Infosys, Wipro, Hexaware, Mindtree, Mahindra & Mahindra and Mahindra International Tractors Ltd. The Institute constantly keeps itself updated with the developments in critical areas of research in science and technology across the globe and is responsive to the changing trends in education, research and market.
ITER focuses on students’ learning, research orientation of the faculty, awareness raising activities and sincere engagement in social responsibility.[2]
Institute of Medical Sciences & SUM Hospital (IMS & SH)
Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, established in 2005, is a leading medical institute providing quality medical education and global standard health care services. The Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has approved the MBBS programme of the institute since 2007-2008 and post graduate (MD) programmes from 2011. Its evolving growth is based on value added medical education & research. The MBBS students are exposed to multi specialty facilities like Dialysis, CT Scan, MRI, Cath Lab along with ICU, ICCU, NICU and PICU as an integral part of their learning. The students learn the sensitive issues in medical science and health care with simultaneous emphasis on the introduction of technology in critical surgery, diagnosis and life support systems. Fibre optics, digital sensors & display, nano technology have become regular part of medical education that IMS imparts.
SUM Hospital is an intrinsic part of the Institute of Medical Sciences with a total number of 750 beds, 25 intensive care beds and 150 cabins. SUM Hospital offers therapeutic care with a focus on preventive care for a healthy society. IMS & SH have a promise to serve the society with care and human touch..[3]
Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS)
Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), established in 2006-07, is recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Department, Govt. of India for its BDS programme. The Institute employs state-of-the-art equipment and instruments that foster dental care and treatment. IDS offers four year BDS programme plus one year paid rotating internship. The Institute has introduced new subjects like Forensic Odontology, Oral Implantology and Aesthetic Dentistry.
The Institute is a centre for education and research in the field of dentistry with facility for cavity care, enamel decay restoration and aesthetic dentistry. All the departments of IDS are well equipped with sophisticated equipments like digital videography, Orthopantomography and Chrome Cobalt Laboratory. The Institute is manned by the dedicated and experienced teaching staff using innovative teaching aids and methodology.[4]
SUM Nursing College (SNC)
The SUM Nursing College was established in 2004. It is a constituent college of SAO University. The nursing college is connected to a full-fledged medical college & hospital, the Institute of Medical Sciences and Sum Hospital.Sum Nursing College (SNC) was established with the approval of Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and Govt. of Odisha. The College in association with IMS and 750-bedded SUM Hospital provides on the job and first hand training to the students.
At SNC, the aspiring nurses assimilate the tender disposition required to supervise, monitor and implement what the doctors prescribe for the patient. The intricacy of the art of nursing involves knowledge of technological use, counseling, care and being humane that the college sincerely promotes. [5]
School of Pharmaceutical Science (SPS)
The School of Pharmaceutical Science (SPS) is devoted to research and teaching on the topic of medical drugs.[6]
School of Hotel Management (SHM)
School of Hotel Management (SHM) was set up in 2004 with approval from AICTE, Govt. of India, New Delhi.[7]
Institute of Business & Computer Studies (IBCS)
The Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), faculty of management studies, SOA — Deemed to be University has been imparting quality education in business and hospital administration since 1997 and 2008 respectively.[8]
