Sibirsky (Russian: Сиби́рский) is a closed rural locality (a settlement) in Altai Krai, Russia, located 44 kilometers (27 mi) from Barnaul. Population: 11,306(2010 Census);[3] 12,046(2002 Census).[5]

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, it is, together with one rural locality, incorporated as the closed administrative-territorial formation of Sibirsky—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[1] As a municipal division, the closed administrative-territorial formation of Sibirsky is incorporated as Sibirsky Urban Okrug.[2] The urban designation is only given because it is the federal law requirement for closed inhabited localities.
