Sian Lloyd is a Welsh television news presenter, currently working for BBC Wales.

Early life

Born in Bangor, Wales, she grew up in Wrexham and is bilingual. She also speaks fluent French.[1]

Career

Lloyd has a LLB in law, and then trained as a solicitor in London and Hong Kong, before becoming a journalist.[1]

Lloyd began her career as a journalist in the north of Wales as a reporter for BBC Wales, then went on to present BBC Wales Today(TV) and Good Evening Wales (radio). She is now a BBC News Correspondent.[1] As part of her correspondent role, Lloyd gives regular contributions to BBC's Crimewatch as a reporter.

Since the move of various BBC programmes to MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, Manchester in 2012, Lloyd has become a regular relief presenter for the main BBC Breakfast programme.

She has also taken part in many Welsh language TV programmes on S4C including the cookery challenge programme - Dudley Pryd O Ser, the comedy chat show - Sioe Tudur Owen, magazine programme - Heno and Welsh learners programme - HWB.

Lloyd was part of the BBC Wales team of presenters covering the National Eisteddfod of Wales 2011 and has been a judge for the Learner of the Year competition 2012.

Personal life

Married, the couple live in Cardiff with their son.[2]

Lloyd supports the Prince's Trust and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and is an ambassador for George Thomas Hospice Care.[1]
