Shuja Ali (Born as Sayed Ali Saeed Rizvi) is an Indian film director and producer.[1] He directed films like Kuch Log- under production,[2] Baat Bann Gayi (2013)[3] and produced documentrary[4] on life of Buddha called Prince Of India, Lord of the world. He is associated with ASR Media and has made television commercials of Panama Cigarettes, Shanti Anwla hair oil, Raymond Renee Swiss Watches, Vital Tea (Pakistan) etc. He is known for making independent films.[5] His Movie Baat Bann Gayi is to be released on 11 October 2013. He is from Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.

Background

Born in Ghazipur, Shuja grew up in (Bhanmau) Barabanki, Lucknow and (Pihani) Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. He did his early schooling from Barabanki and Lucknow, and later studied at Hamid Ali Inter college, Pihani. He returned to Lucknow on way of becoming an English literature graduate from Lucknow University's Shia Digree College.

Career

Shuja Ali's career in television began in 1995 as a documentary and corporate filmmaker and directing TV programs, He directed projects for clients such as Enron, Bombay Stock Exchange, UP Tourism, Monsanto, Advani-Orlikon, Tatari Motors, RPG Heinz, CMAI, and Amateurs Riders Club. His directorial serial was very well appreciated on Polio eradication in association with Jain TV on national Channel Doordarshan. Meanwhile, he also worked with All India Radio as an announcer and hosted programs like Sham-e-ghazal and Yuva Vani.

Shuja also served as programing head of the American TV Channel Ariana TV, based in Afghanistan.

Personal life

Shuja is married to Shagufta Ali. They have a daughter, Zainab Ali, and a son, Mohammad Abbas.
