Shubha Tole (born August 1967) is a neuroscientist, Professor and Principal Investigator at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai, India. She is a recipient of various awards including the Infosys Prize in the Life Sciences category, won in 2014.

Biography

Tole received a BSc in Life Sciences and Biochemistry from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai (1987), MSc and PhD from California Institute of Technology where she wrote her doctoral dissertation on surface markers of regionalization in the vertebrate nervous system.She uses "knockout" and RNAi techniques,in-utero perturbation techniques and tissue culture.

She is a recipient of the Infosys Prize, the Research Award for Innovation in Neurosciences by the Society for Neuroscience; the Government of India's National Woman Bioscientist award; a Swarnajayanti Fellowship; and a Wellcome Trust Senior International Fellowship (1999).[1][2][3] Tole is married to a fellow scientist, Sandip with two children.[4]
