Shorea worthingtonii is a species of plant in the Dipterocarpaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
elliptic to ovate, margins subrevolute, lateral veins 6-9 pairs; dark green foliage.
Trunk
rounded buttresses; Bark - becoming cracked, flaked, pale brown; Wood - yellow.
Flowers
white; Inflorescence - axillary panicles.
Fruits
subglobose, wings 3 long and 2 short, twisted.
Ecology
rain forest canopy, rocky skeletal soils on ridges, hill tops of wet zone.
Uses
Wood - timber construction.
