Shohachi Ishii (石井庄八 Ishii Shōhachi, born September 20, 1926 - January 4, 1980) is a Japanese wrestler and Olympic champion in Freestyle wrestling.
Olympics
Ishii competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki where he received a gold medal in Freestyle wrestling, the bantamweight class after beating Rashid Mammadbeyov of the Soviet Union.[1]
He became the first Japanese gold medalist after the World War II.
