Ship Simulator Professional v2.0 is a new discontinued professional ship simulation platform. It is created by Dutch-based simulator software developer VSTEP. It was released by the end of March 2009. Ship Simulator Professional provides users with a professional maritime training and simulation platform. It features 30 different advanced detailed vessels in highly detailed surroundings.
Ship Simulator Professional supports Windows 7 and can be used with up to three external monitors. It also supports the use of external chart devices, AIS monitors and other navigation systems and hardware. Users can configure up to 8 serial connections separately for different NMEA sentences; this includes update frequencies, baud rates etc. It is also possible to use Ethernet instead of serial communications (23 NMEA output, 9 input).
Ship Simulator Professional was discontinued as of 2011 as VSTEP developed and launched its professional NAUTIS Maritime Simulator brand.
