Shenzhen Special Economic Zone
Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (Chinese: 深圳经济特区), established in May 1980, is the first special economic zone in the People's Republic of China. Seven other special economic zones were subsequently established.
Until 2010, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone comprised four of the six districts of Shenzhen City in Guangdong Province, namely Luohu, Futian, Nanshan, and Yantian, with a total area of 493 km². The addition of Bao'an and Longgang districts substantially increased the geographical size of the SEZ.[1]
