Shelley Hughes (born January 6, 1958 in Canton, Ohio)[1] is an American politician and a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives since January 18, 2013 representing District 8.[2]
Education
Hughes earned her AA from Cuyahoga Community College and her BA in English rhetoric from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Elections
- 2012 With Democratic Representative David Guttenberg running for the District 38 seat, Hughes won the District 8 August 28, 2012 Republican Primary with 1,813 votes (71.89%),[3] and won the November 6, 2012 General election with 6,183 votes (95.64%) against write-in candidates.[4]
