Sheeri Cabral (born 17 September 1978), née Kritzer, is a MySQL community contributor. She was chosen as the first[1] Oracle ACE Director for MySQL.[2] She won the MySQL Community Advocate, Communicator and Facilitator award in 2007[3] and again in 2008[4] for her frequent blog posts, community work, and conference/user group presentations; this sparked a keynote presentation for the 2009 MySQL User Conference & Expo on "How to be a Community Superhero".[5] She delivered another community keynote entitled, "Under New Management: Next Steps for the Community" [6] at the same conference in 2010. In 2012, she won the MySQL Community Award again [7] for her work founding and co-hosting the OurSQL podcast.

Cabral wrote the MySQL Administrator's Bible,[8] and has edited the O'Reilly books SQL Hacks[9](2007), High Performance MySQL 2nd edition[10](2008), and C.J. Date's How to Write Accurate SQL Code.[11] Cabral developed and maintains a new version of mysqltuner[12] (with permission from Major Hayden for the name).

Cabral has a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Brandeis University and is MySQL 5.0 DBA Certified and MySQL Core Certified.[13]

Other notable work

Cabral has worked as a Systems Administrator for Tufts University; a Database Administrator for Guardium, Inc, Manhunt.net and The Pythian Group and a Database Operations Manager for PalominoDB, Inc. She currently works as a Senior Database Administrator/Architect at Mozilla.
