Shaun McKernan (born 1 September 1990) is a professional Australian rules footballer, currently playing for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League.
AFL career
McKernan was selected with Adelaide’s second selection in the 2008 National Draft, he played much of his first season for a very poor South Adelaide side in the SANFL. He made his AFL debut in round 14 against Richmond, and was expected to play the following week against Fremantle. However, his left arm was broken in competitive drills in the final training session of that week. [1]
McKernan was delisted by the Adelaide Football Club at the end of the 2014 home and away season.[2]
On 3 December 2014, McKernan was selected by Essendon with pick 12 in the 2014 rookie draft.
Personal life
Shaun is the younger brother of premiership ruckman Corey McKernan.[3]
