Sharhorod
Sharhorod (Ukrainian: Шаргород; Russian: Шаргород, Polish: Szarogród) is a town in Vinnytsia Oblast, Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Sharhorod Raion, one of 33 regions of Vinnytsia Oblast. Population: 6,975 (2013 est.)[1].
It was founded in 1579 by Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth chancellor and hetman, Jan Zamoyski. It was located very close to the border with the Ottoman Empire.
