Shantinath was the sixteenth Jain Tirthankar of the present age (Avasarpini).[1] According to Jain beliefs, he became a siddha, a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma.[1] Shantinath was born to King Viswasen Raja and Queen Achira Rani at Hastinapur in the Ikshvaku clan. His birth date is the thirteen day of the Jyest Krishna month of the Indian calendar.
