Career

In 2011, the designer showcased his collection on Day 3 of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week which received positive reviews. The inspiration was taken from the Victorian era which reflected in the range presented.[2]

In 2012, the spring summer range of Goenka showcased at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week titled Chateau de Versailles was very well received. The collection created a beautiful imagery of Versailles, its baroque architecture, the colossal murals, rows of monumental statues, fine furniture, the geometric design of the garden and the great fountain outside in the yard. The innovation & creativity was personified with a muse like Marie Antoinette in terms of both style and design. The range was inspired by Lee Alexander McQueen whose history as designer lies for his British tailoring. "The collection is a tribute to this fashion legend and hope I have done justice." said Goenka in an interview after the show. The use of colours were subtle which varied from pistachio greens, teals, rich jam pinks, creamy whites, vintage rose & marmalade gold reflecting the mood of Versailles. Frilly short dresses with dramatic collars and slender waist over leggings, satin gowns, knee-length pleated dresses, puffy short silk dresses, corset tops with floral printed skirts, and asymmetrical dresses with dense thread work coordinated with candy pink leggings could be seen on the ramp. Bollywood actress Neha Kulkarni from Vashi aged 22 years old was the showstopper who wore a white gown with burnished gold embellishments around the hip and bust with a no-makeup look.[3]

Goenka had also designed the garment of Bengali actor Jeet for his wedding.[4]
