Shane Hall (born August 25, 1969 in Simpsonville, South Carolina), is a Part-Time Driver in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He last drove the #49 Jay Robinson Inc. Chevrolet for Jay Robinson Racing. Hall is featured as an Unlockable Driver in the 2003 EA Sports Video Game NASCAR Thunder 2003.
NASCAR career
Sprint Cup Series
Hall has One Career Cup Series Start. Driving the #40 Kendall Oil Pontiac for Dick Brooks at the Fall Rockingham Race in 1995, he Started Last in the Field in 40th Position. With a Crash about Two-Thirds of the way through the Race, Hall backed the #40 into the wall, and Finished 36th.
Nationwide Series
Hall made his Nationwide debut in 1995 Driving for Stegell Motorsports. Driving the #85 Lube America Chevy, Hall Qualified 38th at Nashville Speedway USA and Completed all but Nine Laps en route to a 26th Place Finish. He made One other Start that Year at Rockingham, Starting 36th and Finishing 22nd.
The Stegall Team decided to do a Part-Time Schedule in 1996, Competing in 14 of the 26 Races. His best Run of the Year was once again at Rockingham, where he had a 12th Place Finish and garnered his First Career Lead-Lap Finish. Hall gained his First Career Top-Ten Start Placing 9th at Bristol and then matched it Two Races later at Nazareth.
Hall and Stegall Raced Full Time in 1997. Despite not making Two Races, Hall earned his First Career Top-Ten with a 10th Place Finish at Watkins Glen International. Hall also Won his First Career pole at South Boston. He Finished 23rd in Points that Season.
In 1998, Hall Scored 3 Top-Tens. He Won the Pole at Gateway, and posted 3 Top-Ten Finishes. He Finished 19th in Points that Season.
For 1999, Hall switched over to the #43 Team Owned by Mike Curb, but struggled severely, as he did not Qualify for 6 of the 31 Races. Despite that, Hall scored his First Career Top-Five at Myrtle Beach with a Fourth Place effort. Yet once again, Hall struggled with 9 DNFs. At the End of the Season, Hall was Released from his Ride.
Hall only made Two Starts in 2000. He Raced for the Newly Formed #0 Alumni Motorsports Chevy, with Ohio State University as the Sponsor. With No Owners Points, Hall Only made One of his Few handful of Starts, Leading to his Release Early in the Season.
Hall rebounded for 2001, Singing with the #63 Hensley Racing Ford Sponsored by Lance Snacks. Hall continued to Struggle and Managed Only 3 Top-Twenty Finishes, the Best of which was 12th at Daytona, resulting in a 23rd Place in Points.
After Ken Alexander bought the #63 Team in 2002, Hall Continued to Drive the Car, Competing in 24 Races. He Managed a 10th Place Finish at Kentucky and had 5 other Top- Twenty Finishes. Hall was Released from the Ride at the End of the Season. He has not had a Regular Ride since.
Hall made 5 Races in 2003. 4 of the Starts were for Jay Robinson Racing, though he Raced in Three Different Cars. He drove the #39 Jay Robinson Ford at Nashville, with a 39th place, and the #89 Jay Robinson Ford at Nazareth finishing 43rd. Next, Driving the Primary #49 for Jay Robinson Racing, Shane Finished 39th at the June Nashville Race and 28th at Kentucky. In addition, Shane drove the #15 PPC Racing Ford at Memphis. His Finish was 31st because of Handling Problems.
Shane made 9 more Starts in 2004. He Ran 1 Race with Moy Racing at Gateway in the #77 BG Products Ford. He finished 31st. He Ran Two more Races for Jay Robinson Racing's #28 Team, Finishing 41st at IRP and 38th at Dover. The other Races were for ORTEC Racing, Finishing 19th at Daytona and 20th at Pikes Peak.
Jay Robinson Racing Ran the #28 Ford for Shane in 7 more Races in 2005. His best Finish was 33rd at Dover. However, Shane did not Finish any of the Races, and Lost his Ride in the #28 Car when Jay Robinson Switched to One Team.
Shane again Ran a Limited Schedule in 2006, Returning to Jay Robinson Racing and the #28 Ford for 9 Races. He DNQ for 7 additional races. This time around, Shane was Sponsored by SpeedZone Energy Drink/Advil.
After taking a Year Off in 2007, Hall Returned to the Nationwide Series in 2008 for 1 race at Nashville. He again drove the #49 Car for Jay Robinson.
Since then, Shane has not been in any NASCAR Events.
