Shane Dye

Raymond Shane Dye, born 26 September 1966, in the township of Matamata New Zealand and established himself as a champion apprentice jockey in New Zealand, and, moving to Australia in the late-1980s, he quickly established himself as one of the country's best riders.[1] He gained national prominence with his win on Tawrrific in the 1989 Melbourne Cup, and won the Golden Slipper four years in a row from 1989 to 1992 on Courtza, Canny Lad, Tierce, and Burst.

Adept on both frontrunners and strong finshers, Dye was a prolific winner on Australian racetracks who now rides in Mauritius after eight years in Hong Kong.[2]
