Shan Masood Khan (born 14 October 1989 in Kuwait City, Kuwait) is a Kuwati born Pakistani cricketer. He plays for Habib Bank Limited.

He is a left hand batsman by trade and occasionally bowls right arm medium-fast. He also played for Durham University.

Under-19s Career

Masood caught the eye of Pakistan's talent-spotters quite early, being selected as a 13-year-old for the Under-15 Asia Cup in 2002 after impressing Aaqib Javed.

In 2009, he played in England for Stamford School and scoring 1237 runs at an average of 103, a school record. He appeared on the cricketing circuit in Pakistan in 2007, when he scored 81 against Australia.

He was named vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team.

Domestic career

In his first-class debut game in 2007, Masood scored 54 for Karachi putting together 154 for the opening wicket with Asad Shafiq. He also played three first-class games for Durham University, facing the likes of Liam Plunkett, Graham Onions and Ajmal Shehzad.

He now plays for Habib Bank Limited and was part of the winning side of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 2011. He scored closed to a 1000 runs in last year’s domestic 4 day season and is already close to 700 runs with plenty of games to go.

Shan is known as probably the most technically sound player in the domestic circuit and opening every game for a team like HBL which in itself could be the Pakistan team's batting lineup, is a testament to that. He offers something different from a typical Pakistani player as he is one of the very rare cricketers in Pakistan who is also gaining a degree from abroad with Loughborough University.

International career

As Imran Farhat pulled out of Pakistan's tour of Zimbabwe 2013, Shan was selected as his replacement. Having racked up 1123 runs in the 2012/13 domestic season, Shan was under the selector's eye and had also received backing from former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas. Shan made his Test debut against South Africa in Abu Dhabi in October 2013. He scored 75 and duck in the first match. He scored 21 runs and a duck in his second match.
