The sixth season of Shameless, based on the award-winning British series of the same name by Paul Abbott, is an American drama television series. Executive producers are John Wells, Paul Abbott and Andrew Stearn, and producer Michael Hissrich.

Development and production
Shameless was renewed for a sixth season on January 12, 2015; with it set to premiere in 2016.[2] The writers began working on the season on April 6, 2015.[3]
