Shamek Pietucha is a retired butterfly swimmer born in Poland, who competed for Canada at the 2000 Summer Olympics. There the resident of Calgary, Alberta started in the men's 100-metre and 200-metre butterfly. Currently, Shamek, known as the "Integrative Sojourner", is a practicing integrative medicine physician in Canada.[1]
His best result in Sydney was a sixth place finish in the Men's 4x100-metre medley relay. His international accomplishments include winning a total number of three medals at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. Furthermore, he was the NCAA Division I champion in 1999, while competing for the University of Virginia, in the 200-yard Butterfly. His other accomplishments include:

• 2000 Gold Medalist World Cup VI, 200m butterfly. Hobart, AUS.
