Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences (SKUMS) (Persian: دانشگاه علوم پزشکی شهرکرد) which has been established in 1986, is going to enhance the health of population of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province (one province in southwest of Iran) by understanding and analyzing the health conditions with focus on the latest world health efforts. Health and medical scientists of SKUMS will improve the ranking of this university among other universities. Persian year ۱۳۹۱ (2012-2013) is the year which SKUMS has been reached the top rank of research and education for the ۹th consecutive year among similar Iranian medical universities.[1]

Presently, the university benefits from 5 schools admitting students in a wide and varied range of fields 5 specialties, 3 PhDs, 2 general medical fields (medicine, dentistry), to 22 majors at MSC and BSC levels. The university also benefits from the full-time and invaluable cooperation of 150 academic staff that educates and train some 2000 students.
