Shackford Head State Park is a state park in Eastport, Washington County, Maine. The park occupies a peninsula on the south side of Moose Island separating Cobscook Bay and Broad Cove. The land is named for John Shackford, an American Revolutionary War soldier and early colonial settler in Eastport. During the early 1900s, five Civil War–era ships were burned for salvage on Cony Beach. A plaque marks the spot.[2]
The park has both inland and coastal hiking areas. Trails include the Cony Beach Trail, Shackford Head Trail, and Schooner Trail.[3]
