Shabalinsky District (Russian: Шабалинский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,860 square kilometers (1,490 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Leninskoye.[1] Population: 10,854(2010 Census);[3] 14,013 (2002 Census);[6] 17,489(1989 Census).[7] The population of Leninskoye accounts for 46.6% of the district's total population.[3]
