The site consists of "Serious Eats", a news and commentary section; "Recipes", which gathers and curates recipes from cookbook writers, chefs, and the community; "Eating Out", an advice section; and "Talk", the community forum.

Serious Eats was ranked #17 on Time magazine's list of the 50 Best Websites.[2] Serious Eats was the recipient of two James Beard Foundation awards in 2010 for Best Food Blog, and Best Video Webcast.[3]
