Adult film career

Born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Serenity drew on her ballet training to perform exotic dancing. She won a six-day competition for 1994 Topless Dancer-World Championship at the Stardust Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Strip. She has performed at four major Las Vegas hotels and at four AVN shows.[1]

Her debut scene was 1993's Jennifer Ate for Wicked Pictures.[2] The scene was an all-girl orgy with six other females.[3]

Serenity signed with Wicked Pictures in 1996 and became one of the longest-tenured contract stars in the company's history. In her five years there she became the first and only person (to date) to win back-to-back AVN Awards for Best Actress, winning in 2000 for Wicked's Double Feature and 2001 for M: Caught in the Act.[2]

Serenity has mainstream credits, appearing in more than 20 specials for E! including one segment on the Wild On series.[2] She started Las Vegas Novelties, a company that made various sex toys. After a successful six years, she sold Las Vegas Novelties to Pipedream Products.[2]

She never performed a condom-less boy-girl scene.[2] She became a vegetarian in 1999, and is a staunch animal-rights activist. In 2003 she was nominated for "Sexiest Vegetarian" by PETA.[4]

In September 2004, after 14 months of on-screen inactivity,[note 1] Serenity announced her retirement from performing in adult movies. At the time of her retirement, she was in the third trimester of her first pregnancy. The father of that child is her husband Steve Lane.[note 2][note 3][2][5]
