  • The Planck spacecraft delivers its first sliver of the background radiation from the Big Bang. It will be able to record with "10 times the sensitivity of WMAP's, and about 2.5 times the angular resolution." Also it may last up to 30 months instead of the intended 15, allowing for 4 complete scans. (NewScientist)
