Seminole State College (Oklahoma)

Seminole State College (formerly Seminole Junior College) is a state-supported community college in Seminole, Oklahoma.

History

The college was founded as Seminole Junior College in 1931.^[1]

The campus is in Seminole, Oklahoma at the junction of Highway 9 W and U.S. Route 270.

The college president is Dr. James W. Utterback

The college provides one and two-year programs of collegiate-level technical-occupational education.

The college athletics teams are nicknamed the Trojans.

Nick Blackburn, MLB player, a starting pitcher for the Minnesota Twins.^[2]
Jimmy Youngblood, former pro wrestler, played minor league baseball in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.
