Selimiye Haseki Sultan or Selimiye Sultan (c. 1530 - c. 1596) was a consort to Ottoman Sultan Selim II. She was the mother of Şehzade Abdullah and Gevheran Sultan of the Ottoman Empire
Biography
She was born in Venice, Italy in 1530. She entered the harem of Mihrimah Sultan and Mihrimah gifted Selimiye to her brother Şehzade Selim (later Sultan Selim) and became one of his hasekis (favourite concubine). In 1543 at Manisa she gave birth to her son Şehzade Abdullah (died 1566) and then in 1544 she gave birth to her only daughter named Gevherhan Sultan (died Istanbul, 1580), who was married to Piyale Pasha. She,Mihrimah Sultan and Safiye Sultan are known as responsible of Nurbanu Sultan death. She died in exile in 1596 at the Palace of Trabzon.
