Self Record is a solo album made by Justin Vernon, three years before he started to record under the Bon Iver moniker. He was still recording with DeYarmond Edison at the point that this album was released. This is his first of two Justin Vernon releases, the second being Hazeltons, and very few copies of it were released. The album features a live song which contains a cover of Bruce Springsteen's hit song I'm on Fire.
