The Sekhon is a Jatt tribe that inhabits parts of Punjab in India and Pakistan.

Sekhon in History

Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC (17 July 1943 - 14 December 1971) was an officer of the Indian Air Force. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration, in recognition of his lone defence of Srinagar Air Base against a PAF air raid during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He is the only member of the Indian Air Force to be so honoured.

PALA SINGH SEKHON (1906 - 25 june 1968) was also one brave army officer ranked as subedaar.He was from village jhandyaana near moga.but due to some reason he died.After his death,There are some conflicts between his elder son and Pala singh's wife.After that his younger children with his family and mother moved to Ludhiana. ^[1]

Sant Singh Sekhon (1908–1997) was a Punjabi playwright and fiction writer. He is part of the generation of Indian authors who mark the transition of India into an independent nation, scarred by the tragedies of partition. In 1972, he won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Mittarpiara. He was also awarded the Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian awards, in 1987. He was a Professor of Eminence at the Punjabi University in Patiala; after his death, a chair was set up at the university in his name.
