Seithur is a panchayat town in Virudhunagar district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Seithur had a population of 18,193. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Seithur has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 47%. In Seithur, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. There are many nursery and primary schools and a government higher secondary school, police station, and a famous sivan temple namely Thirukkanneeswarar are located in this village. Agriculture is the major occupation of this village (e.g.) paddy, cotton, coconut, sugarcane etc.
But some persons do works like tailoring, working in mills etc.
