Seeta-nagaram is a village and a Mandal in Vizianagaram district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]
Geography
Sitanagaram is located at 18°40′00″N 83°22′00″E / 18.6667°N 83.3667°E.[2] It has an average elevation of 95 meters (314 feet).
Demography
Seetanagaram mandal had a population of 56,225 in 2001. Males constitute 29,710 and females 26,515 of the population. The average literacy rate is 48%. Male literacy rate is 58% and that of females 37%.
Features
- Seetanagaram railway station is located on Vizianagaram-Raipur railway line in East Coast Railway, Indian Railways.
- Seetanagaram Anicut was constructed across Suvarnamukhi which is tributary to Nagavali River.[3] The project is located near Venkata Bhyripuram village. It is aimed to irrigate a total ayacut of 3,753 acres in Vizianagaram District. The project was constructed during 1955-1960. The project utilizes 0.638 TMC of the available water. The cost of the Project is Rs. 2.36 Lakhs.
- Pedankalam Anicut is constructed across River Suvarnamukhi, a tributary of River Nagavali at Peda Ankalam village.
- There is a post office at Seetanagaram.
