SecureAuth is an Irvine, California-based provider of 2-factor authentication and single sign-on that provides access control to mobile devices, cloud and web applications, and network resources.[4][5][6][7] The company has raised $12 million from private investors. It serves over 1100 customers worldwide and partners with McAfee, Cisco, Juniper Networks, and Citrix.[8][9] In 2013, Gartner, a technology research firm, included SecureAuth in its Magic Quadrant for User Authentication market assessment and also in the MarketScope for Web Access Management.

Notable products

SecureAuth IdP

SecureAuth Identity Provider (IdP) is the company’s main authentication, single sign-on, and identity management solution for cloud, mobile, web, and network security.[10][11]

SecureAuth supports over 20 multi-factor authentication methods, including Yubikeys, SMS text messaging, telephony OTPs, question and answer sessions, and e-mail dialogs. It allows the blocking of specific IP address ranges and sets up different workflows for trusted computers and public networks. It also integrates with various enterprise directories/data stores (Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP, Microsoft SQL, Lotus Notes, OpenLDAP, Novell eDirectory and others).[12]

In 2011 General Services Administration (GSA), an independent agency of the United States government, moved 17,000 employees to Google's cloud-based services using two-factor authentication based on technology from SecureAuth.[13][14][15][16]

In 2012, experts of Network World, an IT periodical, tested SecureAuth along with seven other SSO products by major B2B cloud authentication service providers. SecureAuth was recognized as the best on-premise product together with McAfee. However, the company’s pricing scheme was rated as the most complex.[17]

Awards

In 2012, the company received Stevie Awards in several categories:

In 2013 and 2014, SC Magazine awarded SecureAuth IdP five stars in its independent annual review of this software product.[20]
