Scranton is an unincorporated community in the Amargosa Valley and Amargosa Desert, in Inyo County, eastern California.[1]
The settlement was named after Scranton, Pennsylvania.[2]
Geography
Scranton was located on the former Tonopah and Tidewater Railroad line, at an elevation of 2234 feet (681 m). It is 13 miles (21 km) northeast of Ryan, a former mining town in the Amargosa Mountains,.[1][2]
