The World Scrabble Championship 2014, renamed by Mattel to Scrabble Champions Tournament, was held at the ExCeL London Exhibition and Convention Centre, London in November 2014.[1]
Results
The winner was Craig Beevers of Guisborough, Middlesbrough, England who defeated Chris Lipe of Clinton, New York, United States three games to one in the best-of-five finals. Beevers won the final game by 440 points to 412 with the word "talaq", which scored 42 points and means a Muslim form of divorce. Beevers, whose prize was £3,000, has been playing for 12 years and was the 2009 UK champion.[2]
