Scott Eric Neustadter[1] is an American screenwriter and producer. He often works with his writing partner, Michael H. Weber. The two writers wrote the original screenplays for (500) Days of Summer and The Pink Panther 2. (500) Days of Summer is based on two real relationships Neustadter had.[2] They also wrote the screenplays for The Spectacular Now based on the novel by Tim Tharp, The Fault in Our Stars based on the best-selling novel by John Green, and for Paper Towns based on another novel by John Green due in theaters July 24, 2015. They also created the television series Friends with Benefits which lasted one season.

Life and career

Neustadter was born and raised in Margate City, New Jersey, the son of Anne (Goldberg) and Michael J. Neustadter.[1] He attended Atlantic City High School, University of Pennsylvania and graduate studies at The London School of Economics.

At age 25, Neustadter visited Los Angeles, California, and shortly thereafter moved to Santa Monica, where he currently resides.

He has been married to Lauren Rachelle Levy since October 9, 2010.[1]

Neustadter and Weber will next be writing the script for the adaptation of The Disaster Artist.[3] They will be also adapting another John Green novel, Looking for Alaska.[4]
