Scotopteryx as established by Agassiz in 1847 is an unjustified emendation of Scotopterix, a synonym of the Ennominae genus Gnophos.

Scotopteryx is a genus of moth of the family Geometridae. It is suspected that some species currently placed here actually belong in Entephria.
