"Say It Again" is pop vocalist Jermaine Stewart's second of two singles from 1987. The song was included on Stewart's third album Say It Again. This single was the leading single from the album.

"Say It Again" continued Stewart's commercial success, in both America and Europe. It is this single that became Stewart's second biggest single behind his 1986 hit "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off which peaked at #2 in the UK."

In the UK, the previous single "Don't Ever Leave Me" only peaked at #76.[1] "Say It Again" peaked at #7, speanding a total of twelve weeks in the charts.[2] Stewart wouldn't reach this success again in the UK, although the following single "Get Lucky" would peak at #13 in 1988.[3]

The single's success in Europe continued Stewart's commercial success, with the single peaking at #10 in Norway[4] and #27 in the Netherlands.[5]

In America, the single became Stewart's second most successful single, peaking at #27 whereas "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off" peaked at #5.[6]

A promotional video was created for the single whilst Stewart performed the song on popular UK music show Top of the Pops with his backing band "The Party" in February 1988.[7] In America, Stewart performed the song on American TV show "Soul Train". Originally before his fame as a singer, Stewart had gained recognition as a dancer on the very same show.

"Say It Again" was written by Bunny Sigler and Carol Davis. Sigler is an American musician and producer, mainly of the 1960s and 1970s. He has worked with disco artists and groups like Double Exposure, First Choice, Linda Clifford and Force of Nature.

The b-side for the single "You Promise" was exclusive to the single, written by Stewart and Roy Carter.[8] Unlike many other of Stewart's b-sides, this song was not included on the 1999 compilation "A Tribute to Jermaine Stewart, Attention".[9] Carter was rhythm guitarist for the disco band Heatwave before leaving to pursue a career in record production.

For the single, various remixes of "Say It Again" were released along with the CD single track "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off (Extended Dance Mix)" which is a remix of Stewart's previous hit single, from the 1986 album "Frantic Romantic". The song was written by Narada Michael Walden and Preston Glass.[10]
