Savlon
Savlon is an antiseptic brand that was introduced containing the two agents, cetrimide, an antimicrobial detergent, and chlorhexidine gluconate. These agents were discovered and first developed by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI).[1] On May 22, 1992 Johnson & Johnson announced that it has acquired Savlon OTC brands from ICI.[2]
Various antiseptic products are sold under this trade name; for example a cream containing cetrimide as its only active ingredient, and a dry antiseptic containing povidone-iodine.[3]
