Saurabh Malik (born 19 October 1988) is an Indian Actor, Director, Writer, Filmmaker and a Theatre artist. He made his acting debut with 'Ab hoga dharna unlimited', a critically acclaimed political satire.

Early Life

Born on 19th October 1988, Saurabh Malik completed his schooling from DPS Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and went on to study medicine from the prestigious LLRM medical college. Apart from his career in the movies, he is also one of the Directors of Malik Group, which currently runs Eleganza, a chain of Skin and Cosmetic Surgery clinics.

Theatre

Saurabh's journey towards being an actor began at an early age of 15 as a theatre artist. For 7 years, he learnt the intricacies of the world of theatre under the apprenticeship of world famous theatre director Barry John (theatre director). At the Imago theatre company, New Delhi, Saurabh has been an integral part in the conception and development of several thought-provoking plays that focus on spreading social awareness. He has also worked with Vivek Mansukhani of Scene Steelers amongst other drama Stalwarts.

Saurabh Malik’s debut movie ‘Ab Hoga Dharna Unlimited’ released in 2012 where he plays the protagonist, Rahul alongside noted actors such as, Milind Gunaji, Omkar Das Manikpuri, Rekha Rana, Ehsaan Qureshi, Sunil Pal & Mushtaq Khan. The movie earned 3 stars in the critical review for times of India[1] and is described as an interesting experiment, having some great lines and is recommended for those who like Desi stand-up comedy.

In his first venture as a writer and director, Chal Doctor Doctor Khelein!, scheduled for a 2015 release, Saurabh plays the lead, opposite Sonel Singh. The plot of the movie unfolds in a single night at a medical college. As the writer of the movie, Saurabh tries to reach out to people who end up in the wrong profession for the wrong reasons.

Tamil Cinema

Being the second largest film industry in India, Tamil Cinema has always attracted young and promising actors. Saurabh has upcoming Tamil projects with actors like Dhanush and others.

Others

In accordance to the message that he tries to perpetuate through his works as a film-maker, actor and theatre artist, Saurabh in real life has always been actively involved with many social causes and is a firm believer in 'giving back' to the society. "Mirchi Jhonk" a social program run by his organisation, works towards women empowerment by holding self defence programs, distributing pepper sprays and spreading social awareness through media campaigns since 2011.
