Sarcofagus
Sarcophagus was one of the first heavy metal bands from Finland. With the album Moottorilinnut, released under the moniker Kimmo Kuusniemi Band, they also were the first metal band to sing in Finnish.
Sarcophagus ( Sarcophagus LTD ) was founded in 1977, is a Finnish heavy metal band, which is often regarded as the first Finnish heavy metal -bändinä. The band's front-man Kimmo Kuusniemi has stated its documentary film Promised Land Of Heavy Metal that Finland in the early 1980s was not prepared to heavy metal. Album Moottorilinnut the band was forced to publish the name of Kimmo Kuusniemi Band everywhere, because not allowed to use the name of Sarcophagus. The album was also the first sung in Finnish heavy metal album. The band is still of the opinion that the board should have been published Sarcophagus under that name.
After Sarcophagus broke up, Kimmo, the band's mastermind, started to work as a professional film maker, and has produced and directed hundreds of international films from TV Commercials to Music Videos, from Vader to Madonna. He also composed tons of movie soundtracks.
